Throwback Thursday: Welcome Back Edition (and then there were three)

April 11th, 2008
Oh - Mom and Dad - this pic reminds me, 1994 called and it wants it's living room back.

September 6th, 2008
Shane Patrick - May 1st, 2008
Amelia Mabel - May 20th, 2008
Rachel Elizabeth - August 27th, 2008

No matter how many times I go through this or see close friends and family have babies, I still won't be able to wrap my teeny tiny little brain around it.

Welcome back Throwbacks. Even if no one else has, I've missed you.

ps - The countdown is on people. T-minus 8 hours and counting until the OFFICE PREMIERE!!!!

Throwback Thursday: Changes in Latitudes Edition

Surprisingly, I got to go to the Jimmy Buffett concert last night at Riverport UMB Bank Pavilion at Verizon Amphitheatre! We had AMAZING seats (best I've ever been in), awesome weather and awesome music. It was a great night for TPD and I (well at least for me and Tim got to drink beer so everyone was a winner) to kick back before things get a little busier around here for a while. The only thing missing really was that big giant margarita in my hand, but otherwise the company was good and the show was fantastic!

So, in a tardy Thursday Throwback, it reminded me of my 30th birthday (so many years ago now! ouch) in Las Vegas at the last JB concert we attended. This was Tim's first concert (I'm sure he was thrilled), my 10th or something like that and just coincidentally the Muldrow's were in town for Aimee's work so we all got to kick back the last night in Vegas for a little 30th B-day partying (after a stressful weekend of work for a-le). Fun times!

So cute, so young, so carefree... so three years ago.

Me dragging everyone to Margaritaville Las Vegas

Sooo much fun!!!

Even my parents surprised me by flying out to Vegas, too!

Throwback Thursday: 1989 Boy Band Edition *update*

I only wish I could run over to my parent's house right now and dig out a picture of my room as it stood from approximately 1988-1990 completely wallpapered with Donnie, Jordan and maybe a few group photos (but I was sooo not into Joey or Danny...bleech).

Over the course of about 4 years, I acquired practically every book, magazine, video or other item of propaganda pushed at "tweens" like myself (although we weren't called that back then) and whole heartedly wished Donnie Wahlberg would throw rocks at my window some random Tuesday night and beckon that I run away on tour with him. I'm pretty sure if I dug through my old boxes of crap treasured childhood memories I could find numerous pieces of paper where I practiced signing my name, "Erin Wahlberg" over and over just so that I was prepared.

So, in honor of Throwback Thursday, I thought we would throwback and play tribute to one of the original boy bands as they prepare to reunite. I trust you will all be watching tomorrow's Friday Concert series on the Today Show - I know I'll tune in to see 38 year old men singing "Hanging Tough" and "I'll be Loving you Forever". *Update* Apparently there is no concert today, we'll have to wait until May 16th for the actual concert...and I was so looking forward to having "Ooh...ooh..ooh..oooh...ooh... We're Hanging Tough" playing through my head all day.

ThenNow
Hey, Becky and Katie, you guys want to come over for a slumber party tomorrow night - we'll watch the New Kids video and rip out new pics from Tiger Beat? I get all the Donnie ones, Becky gets all the Danny ones and Katie gets Jordan or was it Joey? I think you were kind of a flip-flopper. And, yeah, I'm calling you both out - and especially you Beck, it's gotta kill you that you let your older, non-cooler cousin bully you into becoming a New Kids fan. Especially the way you tried to soooo hate them, but eventually the fever overcame you and your room was straight out of Erin's Teen Beat Decorating style, too.

Anyone else absolutely horrified that this is the 20th... yes, 20th anniversary of the release of the Hanging Tough album and are there any other closet NKOTB fans out there?

PS - Check out Doogie on the cover over there. So cute - and little did we know back then...

Throwback Thursday: Self-Humiliation and Innocent Victims

Warning: This might make certain family members of mine feel really old. Apparently, it's been almost 20 years since I was in Junior High School. It's kind of hard to believe I am a LOT closer to having a child in junior high then I am to being in junior high. I think I tend to still associate with not being "that far" away from school days when in reality I am so far into adulthood and away from school days it's not even funny. Many of you might be arguing right now that my mental age is still closer, and you'd probably be right.

So, without further ado, I give you Hixson Junior High School, class of 1989. It would appear from the condition of this yearbook, that sometime in the last 20 years I was either living underwater or had a major flood in my room/basement, etc. so please excuse the condition of these scanned photos. (Remember - you can click and see enlarged versions for maximum humiliation.)

P.S. Seems like PS's were big in 1989.
PPS. If you read this PPS, you're wasting your time. (Clever 8th grade humor, isn't it?)

Here it is, internet friends. You gotta love the rag top curly hair head - I think I might go back to that look. And, oh, how I loved that sweater...loved, loved, loved it. The black and white doesn't do the beautiful shade of burgundy justice. I thought it looked so good with my brown hair and eyes...

Now, for the innocent victims - current friends of mine that were also lucky enough to be in the 1989 Hixson yearbook. Isn't he too precious? Such youth, such innocence, and such a great bowl haircut...

And, finally, as I was scanning this page so I could point out the signed blue entry that reads,

"You r a great friend! And I want you to know that you're also one of my only normal ones so don't lose it on me"
(Mom and dad - this must make you super proud -or terrified- at the people I hung out with!) I noticed another innocent victim was included on this page. This must have been one of only a few years we went to school together (do you remember, Innocent Victim?), but click on the picture to enlarge and look closely - you'll see who my last victim is! See, you think you're safe, but you never know when you're going to appear in Throwback Thursday!

Other names and faces were blurred to protect the truly innocent and because I don't know if I can get in trouble for posting them and lord knows I don't need that in my life. My apologies to Jeremy, you made it as an innocent first boyfriend victim - but I'm also pretty sure you don't read this blog, at least let's hope not.

Throwback Thursday: Tomboy Edition #2

I thought this was a cute follow-up to our last tomboy-themed throwback. Can't you just see this pic on one of those adorable kid baseball cards? Scary what pictures I have access to, isn't it? You never know when you're going to be next!

Throwback Thursday: Friday Edition

Sorry, with all the weather hoopla, I missed the Thursday throwback. Enjoy today's cute-as-a-button, tom-boy throwback.

PS- Yes, I am conceding this one to the weather people, although I still believe it was over sensationalized. We got about 6" out here in glorious Ballwin and it was nice and pretty, but it wasn't exactly a blizzard and I didn't see the need for them to break into my favorite shows every 15 minutes either. But, yes, chalk one up for them.

Throwback Thursday: Going to the Dogs

They passed the 5 year mark, can you believe it? Oh man, we'd be sending them to kindergarten this year, but since they're dogs, they're now actually older than us.

Throwback Thursday... GRRRRR

Barrette's in the hair and warrior paint on the face? Can you say conflicted?
And what's going on with the clothing?

Throwback Thursday: ca. 1985-1988

For some reason, this picture always pops up on my other monitor's slideshow rotation and every time I see it I laugh out loud. So, in the interest of true evilness, I thought I would share it with all of you. Names are withheld to protect the innocent... especially innocent puppies with Soda names.

PS - He didn't shoot his eye out with a
Red Ryder BB Gun if that's what you were thinking.
